Asset overview

What this node setup does

REQUIRED: assign the target Surface object and an Instance object or Instance Collection. Supply mesh vertices or points as the input. | MESH INPUT: drop on a mesh, or feed mesh geometry to Points. Apply object scale for predictable distances. | Surface tracker - snaps points onto any surface and keeps them there, oriented to the real hit normal with twist. Travel marches them across the surface in steps, re-projecting each step so they follow curvature instead of cutting through. Outputs position, normal, rotation and distance.

Source and setup notes

Source asset name: OMNI - Surface Tracker

Collection: Physics & Solvers/Collisions

Structural inspection used Blender 5.2.0 LTS. Other releases and render engines require separate checks.

How to approach this asset

  1. Check the source notes for the expected mesh, curve, field, shader or World context.
  2. Start with a disposable scene and a suitable input. Inspect required object, material or collection inputs.
  3. Adjust one documented control at a time. Evaluate the result before using it in a production project.
